22VAC40-185 STAFFING AND SUPERVISION.

This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.
A complaint inspection was initiated on 6/17/2020 and concluded on 8/3/2020. A complaint incident was received by the department regarding allegations in the areas of staffing and supervision. the director was contacted by telephone to conduct the investigation. The inspector emailed the director a list of documentation required to complete the investigation.
The evidence gathered during the investigation supported the allegation of non-compliance with standards or law and violations were issued. Any violations not related to the complaint but identified during the course of the investigation can be found on the violation notice.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-340-A Complaint related: No Description: Based on interviews the provider failed to ensure that when staff are supervising children, they shall always ensure their care , protection, and guidance.
Evidence:
1. The LI interviewed staff #1 and she stated that child #1 (3 years old) climbs in and out of cribs and will climb on tables that they eat on. Staff #2 stated that the child climbs in the cribs and on tables, while they are in the room.Plan of Correction: The cribs have been removed and placed in storage. The staff would remove child immediately.
