A monitoring inspection was initiated on 2/13/2024 and concluded on 2/13/2024. There were 10 children present with three staff supervising. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, staffing and supervision, special care. The inspection started at 10:25 am and concluded at 10:45 am.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Standard #: 22.1-289.035-A Description: Based on record review and interviews, the center failed to ensure that the center did not continue to employ a person who is the subject of a founded complaint of child abuse or neglect within or outside the Commonwealth.
Evidence:
Staff #1 has a founded child neglect disposition from Child Protective Services (CPS) and was working at the center on 2/13/2024. Staff #1 has been working at the center since staff #1 was notified, in person, of the founded disposition on 11/29/2023 and was sent a letter dated 12/8/2023 notifying the staff person of the founded disposition.Plan of Correction: Staff 1 will no longer work in the center, Staff 1 had appealed the decision. but did not hear anything back from CPS. Staff 1 was waiting for CPS to contact her which they never did
Standard #: 8VAC20-780-500-A Description: Based on observation the center failed to ensure that children's hands shall be washed with soap and running water or disposable wipes before and after eating meals or snacks.
Evidence:
Following snack the children did not wash their hands.Plan of Correction: Staff will ensure that all children's hands are washed or wiped with wipes after meals
