A monitoring inspection was conducted Wednesday, March 20, 2023. The licensing inspector was onsite, completing the inspection from approximately 2:00pm until 3:40pm. There were 13 children present, ranging in ages from six years to 11 years, with two staff supervising. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programs, special care provisions and emergencies, special services and background checks. A total of five children's records and four staff members? records were reviewed.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.
Please complete the ?plan of correction? and ?date to be corrected? for each violation cited on the violation notice and returned it to me within five business days from today. Your plan of correction should contain: 1) steps to correct the noncompliance with the standard(s), 2) measures to prevent the noncompliance from occurring again; and 3) person(s) responsible for implementing each step and/or monitoring any preventive measure(s).

Standard #: 8VAC20-770-40-D-1-b Description: Based on a review of a staff record (S-4) and an interview with a staff member (S-5), the center failed to obtain a search of the central registry for S-4 before 30 days of employment ended.
Evidence:
The central registry search for S-4 was dated 10/03/22. S-4 was hired on 6/15/22. In an email exchange with this licensing specialist on 3/25/24, S-5 acknowledged that the search results for S-4 were not dated before 30 days of employment ended.Plan of Correction: Center will ensure all documents and follow ups are completed before staff can start.
Standard #: 8VAC20-780-560-J Description: Based on observation and an interview with a staff member (S-2), the center failed to sanitize the tables before and after feeding the children their snacks as required.
Evidence:
S-2 was observed by this licensing specialist wiping down the tables with baby wipes. A disinfectant solution was not used. In an interview on 3/20/24, S-2 acknowledged that they did not have a disinfectant solution to sanitize the tables.Plan of Correction: Center will have a disinfectant solution and clean tables with this product.
