Comments:
An unannounced Monitoring Inspection was initiated on September 7, 2022 and concluded on September 28, 2022. There were a total of 3 children present under the direct care of 2 staff members. Two children records were reviewed on 9/07/2022 and 2 staff records were reviewed on 9/28/2022.

Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliances with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Violations:
Standard #: 8VAC20-780-540-C
Description: Based on inspection, the Licensee failed to have required first aid supplies available.

EVIDENCE:
The center's first aid kit did not include tweezers.

Plan of Correction: Director will supply first aid kit with tweezers. First aid supplies will be monitored throughout each week to ensure all required items are available.

Standard #: 8VAC20-780-550-G
Description: Based on inspection, the Licensee failed to maintain documentation of emergency evacuation, shelter-in-place and lockdown drills to include identity of the person conducting the drill, the date & time of the drill, the method used for notification of the drill, the number of staff participating, the number of children participating, any special conditions simulated, the time it took to complete the drill, problems encountered & weather conditions.

EVIDENCE:
Documentation of the center's emergency drills, evacuation, shelter-in-place & lock-down drills did note, did not include identity of the person conducting the drill, method of notification used, the number of staff present, any special conditions, weather conditions and any problems encountered.

Plan of Correction: Center will document all required information when conducting an emergency drill.
