An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today.
There were 21 preschool children (ages 3-11years) present with four teachers.
The children were arriving, washing their hands, playing with toys and playing outdoors.
Five child records were reviewed.

Standard #: 8VAC20-780-270-A Description: Based on a tour of the playground, the facility failed to ensure that all equipment is kept in safe and operable condition.
Evidence:
1. On the climber, there is significant, flaking rust on the under side of the straight yellow slide and on the blue steps.
2. On the straight yellow slide there is a 1/4 inch gap between the slide and the deck. This presents an entanglement point.Plan of Correction: The program director reported that the climber will not be used by children until: the severity of the rust can be evaluated and repaired.
