This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, including telephone contacts, documents review, interviews and a virtual tour of the program.
A monitoring inspection was initiated on 01/24/2022 and concluded on 02/01/2022. The director was contacted by telephone and a virtual inspection was conducted. There were three children present with two staff supervising. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, special care and emergencies and nutrition. A total of two child records and two staff records were reviewed.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Standard #: 8VAC20-780-550-D Description: Based on a review of the center's emergency drill log and interviews, the center did not implement a monthly practice evacuation drill.
Evidence: 1) The licensing inspector observed the emergency drill log for the year 2021. An evacuation drill was not documented in December 2021 2) During interview, a member of management reported an emergency evacuation drill was not conducted in December 2021.Plan of Correction: Staff were reminded to conduct monthly evacuation drills and to document accordingly.
