Comments:
An unannounced annual Subsidy Health and Safety Inspection (SHSI) was conducted with the provider on 10/16/23 from 10:45am to 12:00pm. There was one four-year-old child present with the provider, for a total of two points. The child was observed having free play, eating a snack of goldfish and apple juice, doing dot-art, and playing with a floor puzzle. The provider record, one child record, and four household member records were reviewed. The drill log and emergency preparedness plan were reviewed. The first aid kit, battery-operated radio, battery-operated flashlight, fire extinguisher, smoke detectors, and carbon monoxide detector were observed. The provider has current certification in CPR and First Aid. The provider is not certified in Medication Administration Training (MAT) and is aware that she cannot give prescription medication without becoming MAT certified. The provider also understands that she may only care for up to four daycare children at a time, and no more than four children under two-years-old, without a license. If you have questions regarding this inspection, please contact the Licensing Inspector, Laura Brindle, at laura.brindle@doe.virginia.gov or 540-905-2062.
