The licensing inspector conducted an unannounced renewal inspection on Friday, May 3, 2019 from approximately 12:20 pm to 3:00 pm to determine the center's compliance with licensing standards. During this inspection, the children in care were observed by the licensing inspector in the various classroom settings. The census for today's inspection consisted of 54 children with 11 staff present including volunteers and administrative staff. The licensing inspector completed observations of the children in care completing a variety of activities to include reading books, transitioning for napping, napping, working in centers, and engaged in activities with peers and staff, waking up from nap, and eating snack. The children's snack today consisted of a cheese stick and crackers. The center's bathrooms, and designated classrooms were inspected by the licensing inspector. The licensing inspector also completed observation of some parent pick ups. The required posting were reviewed by the inspector. Medication is being administered, medications, and written authorizations were reviewed for the center's compliance. There were seven children?s and staff's records reviewed during this inspection. The center's first aid kit and emergency supplies were inspected. The Department must receive a complete renewal application prior to expiration of the license on 06/26/19. Standard #: 63.2(17)-1720.1-B-3 Description: Based on review of staff record and interview with staff, the center did not ensure to obtain a copy of the results of a search of an out of state central registry. Evidence: During the inspection on May 3, 2019, in Staff#6's record (date of hire: 9/20/16) the sworn statement dated 8/31/17 indicated that this staff lived out of state and there was no results of an out of state central registry found. Interview with staff confirmed that results were not available in record for and could not verify whether a search was conducted at this time. Plan of Correction: I will follow up with Staff#6 & HR personnel concerning out of state central registry.
