An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted with the director beginning at 11:15 AM and ending at 2:45 AM. There sixteen children, ages four and five years old, in care during the inspection. The children were observed returning from their field trip to The National Gallery of Arts. Ten children's records were reviewed and in compliance. Four staff records, four board members' records, and two administrative staff records were reviewed. Three medications were reviewed and in compliance. The emergence evacuation drill log was reviewed and in compliance. The most recent emergency escape drill was documented as 4/20/2018. The most recent shelter-in-place drill was documented as 10/4/2017. A lockdown drill was conducted on 2/01/2018. The most recent health inspection was 5/31/2018. Standard #: 63.2(17)-1721.1-B-2 Description: Based on interviews it was determined that the center did not obtain an Office of Background investigations (OBI) fingerprinting-based criminal history record determination letter for all board officers and administrative staff. Evidence: The center did not have documentation of criminal history record letter for board member A (appointed in May 2018). Plan of Correction: The center has been in contact with the board member to have the finger printing background check completed. The center will remove the board member from their position until the finger printing background form is received.
