The licensing inspector conducted an unannounced complaint inspection in response to a complaint that was received by the licensing department on 04/08/2019 regarding ratio. The inspection was initiated on 05/02/2019 and completed on 05/02/2019. On 05/02/2019, the inspector was on site from 8:18am to 2:00pm. Interviews with staff were completed, observations were made in the center, and documentation was reviewed. The preponderance of the evidence gathered during the investigation supports the allegation; therefore, the complaint is determined to be valid. See the violation notice for more details. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-350-E-2 Complaint related: Yes Description: Based on observation and an interview, the center did not ensure for children 16 months old to two years: one staff member for every five children. Evidence: The inspector observed seven children and one teacher in the toddler classroom from 8:23am to 8:30am. Additionally, one of the center's staff revealed that the center has been periodically out of ratio in the morning. Plan of Correction: Ratios will be closely monitored by the directors. Faculty members have been trained on ratio requirements.
