An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted on May 15, 2019 starting at 3:50 p.m. and ending at 5:30. There were 18 children ranging in age from 5 years to 10 years of age under the care and supervision of 2 staff. Children were observed during transition outside for outdoor play and during outdoor play. Children returned inside and prepared for snack. Snack today were Halo mandarin oranges, wheat crackers and water. After snack, children participated in an activity about the week's theme about the Rainforest and then did Rainforest yoga. Two emergency medications were reviewed and in compliance. Five children's records were reviewed. Liability insurance is up to date. Emergency drills were reviewed and up to date. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-240-D-1 Description: Based on review of documentation and interview with staff, the center failed to ensure there was at least one staff present trained in Medication Administration Training (MAT). Evidence: The center's policy is to administer medication, there are two emergency medications on site (EpiPen, ProAir inhaler) and no staff was trained in Medication Administration Training. Plan of Correction: There will be a MAT certified staff member on site for every shift.
