An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today, May 31, 2019 to determine the center's compliance with licensing standards. The Director was present and participated in the inspection . The inspection was initiated at 11:30 am and concluded at 1:00 pm. Upon the inspectors arrival children were observed in a variety of activities. Children in the toddler class were listening to a story and playing with toy cars and a road mat, The three preschool classrooms alternated times on the playground where children played on the climbing equipment, swings, balls and an outdoor sensory table. Later children returned to their classrooms where they gathered on the rug to prepare for lunch. Children washed their hands and sat down for lunch. Children provide their own lunch and the center provides snack. Today's snack consisted of carrots, cucumbers, crackers and ranch dip. All areas of the facility were inspected to include the playground. The school age piece of climbing equipment is not being used. The facility has age appropriate materials and supplies. The first aid kit and non-medical supplies were inspected and found complete. The facility had the following required information posted: The license, last inspection notice, emergency numbers, daily schedule, evacuation procedures and snack menu. The inspector interacted with staff and children in care. Five staff records and five children's records were reviewed. Medications and authorizations were reviewed. Multiple staff have current MAT certification. Staff have CPR, first aid and DHO training. The most recent evacuation drill was documented on 05/23/2019. One shelter-in-place drill was conducted on 09/17/2018. A second shelter-in-place drill will need to be completed by the end of August 2019.
