A Subsidy Health and Safety inspection was conducted on 7/1/19 from 10:35am until 1:15pm to review supplemental health and safety requirements. At the time of entrance, there were 14 children in care with 5 staff present. A sample of 5 children's records and 5 staff records were reviewed. Children were observed participating in morning activities, eating lunch and resting quietly during nap time. Hand washing and restroom procedures were also observed. Medication, first aid and emergency supplies, the emergency preparedness plan and documentation of emergency practice drills were reviewed. The vendor stated there have been no injuries or accidents to children in care since the previous inspection. A licensing inspection was also conducted this date; the two inspections combined cover all subsidy health and safety requirements. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards are reviewed during this supplemental inspection. Violations were found during the supplemental subsidy health and safety inspection and are identified on the violation notice.

Standard #: 22VAC40-665-580-E-1 Description: Based on record review and interview, the vendor did not ensure that all staff have current certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) appropriate to the age of children in care. Evidence: 1. The most recent documentation of CPR certification for staff 1 is dated 4/29/17. Staff 1 was due for recertification in April 2019. 2. The vendor confirmed that CPR certification for staff 1 is expired. Plan of Correction: Staff 1 is scheduled for recertification in CPR on 7/13/19.
