An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted from 4:00 - 5:30 pm. There were 16 children, ranging in age from five years to 10 years of age, present with two staff supervising. The children were observed heading to the gym to play a group game, washing hands, and eating snack. Snack served today was mini bagels with cream cheese and grapes. Four children's records were reviewed and in compliance. Two staff records were reviewed offsite at the Ron Rosner central office on 8/30/19. Required information was posted. The last emergency escape drill was conducted 9/26/19 and the last shelter-in-place drill was conducted 9/23/19. Three medications and authorization forms were reviewed. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-70-A Description: Based on a review of on site documentation, it was determined that not all required information was available for all staff. Evidence: Staff #2 had no documentation of a name, address and phone number to be notified in an emergency. Plan of Correction: Will ask the area manager for the missing information.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-510-E Description: Based on a review of three medications, not all medication was labeled with the child's name. Evidence: there was a box of Children's Benedryl that was not labeled with any child's name. Plan of Correction: Corrected during the inspection.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-560-K Description: Based on observation, the facility failed to clean and sanitize tables as required before snack. Evidence: staff sprayed a disinfectant solution on tables and wiped them with a paper towel without allowing the solution to air dry for at least a minute. Plan of Correction: Will ensure tables are cleaned and sanitized as required.
