An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted today, October 24, 2019 to determine the center's compliance with licensing standards. The inspection was initiated at 9:30am and completed at approximately 11:00am. Although no children were present during today's inspection, all areas of the facility in which children utilize were inspected. These areas include the main hallways, children's restrooms, classrooms, gymnasium, outdoor play areas (soccer fields, volleyball field, playground, and open grass areas) and indoor pool.
The center had the required postings displayed on the portable bulletin board upon entering the classroom. The center's first aid kit and emergency supplies were inspected with the required supplies found. Five children's records and five staff emergency records were inspected with the required information present. Staff full records were previously inspected on 08/20/19. The following was also inspected on this day: annual inspections, fire/shelter-in-place drills, parent agreements, injury reports, liability insurance, and other pertinent information.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-330-B Description: Based on the inspection of the children's playground the required amount of resilient surfacing was not present under the playground equipment.
Evidence:
During today's inspection of the children's playground, it was discovered the playground equipment did not not have the required amount of resilient surfacing under the circular monkey bars and blue dual slide. The mulch was found to be compacted in various areas with only approximately 3 inches of mulch.Plan of Correction: Per site supervisor: I will submit a request to have additional mulch added to the playground.
