Comments:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today from 4:00pm to 5:40pm with program staff. There were 18 children in care from five to ten years of age supervised by two staff. The children were observed eating snack, which consisted of yogurt and berries, going to wash hands, and discussing trees and pollution. Five children?s files were reviewed and in compliance. Two staff files were reviewed off site at the Ron Rosner building today and were in compliance. Medications and authorization forms were reviewed and in compliance and the center has two Medication Administration Training (MAT) certified staff. The attendance and emergency drill log were reviewed and in compliance. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-280-B
Description: Based on observation, hazardous substances were not kept in a locked place using a safe locking method that prevents access by children. Evidence: There was a container of Lysol brand wipes and a Lysol brand spray cleaner in cabinets that were not locked and were accessible to children.

Plan of Correction: We will move all of the hazardous substances to one cabinet and get a lock on it.

Description: Based on observation, cleaning and sanitizing materials were not stored physically separate from food. Evidence: There was a container of Lysol brand wipes stored in a cabinet next to crackers.

Plan of Correction: We will move all of the hazardous substances to one cabinet and get a lock for it.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-560-K
Description: Based on observation, tables were not sanitized after meals. Evidence: After snack was over the staff did not sanitize the tables.

Plan of Correction: We will make sure to sanitize tables moving forward.
