An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted on 11/19/2019. The inspector arrived at 7:50 A.M. and departed the program at 11:30 A.M. There were a total of 69 children ages 2-5 years old and 12 staff members present. Staff-to-child ratios were met in each group of children. Licensing Inspector reviewed six staff's two agent's , six children's records and medication/allergy care plan records during today?s inspection.
Observed children arrival, bathroom/hand washing procedures, snack/meal served, group activities inside and outside and self-initiated activities.
Discussion with administration: locking chemicals with a child proof lock, additional MAT modules, TB before hire for subsidy and staff monitoring playground.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-330-B Description: Based on observation of the playground area, the center failed to ensure that all areas that require resilient surfacing had the required amount.
Evidence:
1. Directly under the swings the resilient surfacing did not have the required 6 inches of mulch.Plan of Correction: The director will have the area re raked to ensure that the kick out space under the swings has sufficient mulch.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-340-D Description: Based on review of staff's records and observation of the classrooms, the center failed to ensure that in each grouping of children at least one staff member met the qualifications of a program leader.
Evidence:
1. Staff # 1 was observed in the three old class and there was no documentation of program leader education.Plan of Correction: The director will start today with the 24 hours of program leader training.
