Comments:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted from 10:00 a.m. - 12:45 p.m. There were 143 children in care being supervised by 25 staff members. The children were observed participating in structured center play, outdoor play, and circle time activities. Lunch served today is chicken with broccoli casserole, scalloped potatoes, fresh fruit, and milk. Ten children's records were reviewed and in compliance. Nine staff records were reviewed and in compliance. Seventeen medications were reviewed. There are currently three staff members on site who are MAT (Medication Administration Training) certified. Description: Based on review of medication it was determined that there was not always someone on site with the correct training or certification to administer medication. Evidence: There was not a staff member on site with the appropriate training or certification to administer the emergency medication for Child A.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-270-A
Description: Based on observation of the infant toddler playground it was determined that not all areas of equipment were maintained in safe condition. Evidence: There were three bolt covers that were cracked with sharp edges accessible to children on the large equipment apparatus of the infant/toddler playground.

Plan of Correction: The sharp edges were covered and made inaccessible during the inspection. A work ticket was submitted with maintenance for a permanent repair.
