An unannounced Renewal Inspection was conducted today from 12:35pm to 2:30pm. There were 70 Infants to Prescoolers directly supervised by 12 staff. The physical plant, 3 staff records, 6 children?s records, no children's medications and medication authorization records (current from previous inspection visit), evacuation drills, injury reports, emergency supplies, and policies were inspected. Children were observed napping, and infants were interacting with staff. Diapering and hand-washing procedures were also observed. There was a sufficient supply of books, toys, and materials for the children. There was an adequate number of staff with current certification in MAT, CPR and First Aid, as well as DHO training. Staff-to-child ratios were in compliance. The center was clean and organized. Areas of non-compliance are identified in this report. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-130-B Description: Based on review, the facility did not ensure that it obtained additional immunizations every six months for children under the age of two years.
Evidence: Reviewed 6 children's records and found that Child 3Plan of Correction: Will touch base with parent to see if any additional immunizations have been received, or if the child is on an adjust schedule.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-440-E Description: Based on observation, the facility did not ensure that occupied cots, etc were at least 12 inches apart.
Evidence: Observed that there was less than 12 inches between cots in Preschool 1 and Early Preschool 1.Plan of Correction: Will show staff what the spacing looks like and will review cot maps.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-560-G Description: Based on observation, the facility did not ensure that when food is brought from home it is labeled, clearly identifying the owner and the date.
Evidence: Observed that the food for 1 child in the Young Toddlers classroom did not have a date.Plan of Correction: Will instruct the teacher to make sure the food has dates.
Standard #: 22VAC40-80-120-E-2 Description: Based on review, the facility did not post the most recent inspection of the facility.
Evidence: Reviewed the post inspection of the facility and found that it was dated 6/5/19, when the most recent inspection occurred on 10/21/19.Plan of Correction: Corrected at the time of the visit.
