Technical Assistance was offered regarding the following: Background checks and emergency drill records.

An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted from 10:00 am through 11:50 am. There were 34 children in direct care and supervision of 8 staff members. The children were observed playing outside on the playground, eating morning snack and engaged in fitness and movement activities. 5 staff records and 5 children's records were reviewed. There were no medications on site. Emergency drill records were also reviewed. Areas of non compliance are listed in the violation notice. Standard #: 63.2(17)-1720.1-B-3 Description: Based on records review, the center did not obtain results of out of state central registry findings for employee that have resided outside of the state of Virginia within the last 5 years.
Evidence:
1. Staff # 1's date of hire was 8/19/19.
2. Staff # 1's record indicated that she resided in Florida within the last five years. Staff # 2 stated that the out of state central registry for Florida was not submitted for Staff # 1.
3. Staff # 3's record indicated that she resided in Hawaii within the last 5 years. An out of state central registry form was submitted in March 2018 but the results were not obtained.Plan of Correction: A follow up will be done for the registry for Staff # 3 and the form for Staff # 2 will be mailed out within 10 days. A follow up will be conducted withe the licensing inspector.
