An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted from 2:00 - 4:00 pm with the childcare manager and staff. There were 36 children, ranging in age from five years to 11 years of age, present with five staff supervising. The children were observed playing outside with sidewalk chalk and on the playground, playing inside in various centers, washing hands and eating snack which was brought from home. Five children's records and five on-site staff records were reviewed and in compliance. The emergency drill log was observed and in compliance. three medications were observed and in compliance. The last health inspection was conducted: 5/17/19 and the last fire inspection was conducted: 8/26/19. The first aid kit, battery operated flashlight and radio were observed. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-540-E Description: Based on observation, the center did not have all required emergency supplies. Evidence: the battery operated radio did not work. Plan of Correction: Will obtain batteries for the radio, as there are extra at the office.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-560-K Description: Based on observation, the facility failed to clean and sanitize tables as required. Evidence: before snack, staff sprayed a disinfectant solution on tables and wiped them with a paper towel without allowing the solution to air dry for at least a minute. Plan of Correction: Will retrain staff on required procedures to sanitize tables.
