Comments:
An unannounced 60-day monitoring inspection was conducted from 11:15 am ? 1:45 pm with the director. There were 15 children, ranging from 17 months to five years of age, supervised by four staff. Children were observed napping, playing outside on the playground, and engaged in circle time activities with teachers. Four children?s records and four staff records were reviewed and in compliance. Two medications and authorization forms were reviewed and in compliance. The emergency drill log was observed and in compliance. The battery operated radio and flashlight were observed and in compliance. Description: Based on observation, not all hazardous substances were kept in a locked place, using a safe locking method that prevents access by children. Evidence: there was a bottle of bleach water sitting by the changing table and sink in the first steps class, by the changing table and on a high shelf (unlocked) in the toddler classroom, and sitting on a high shelf (unlocked) in the preschool classroom.

Plan of Correction: Will ensure all bottles of bleach water in stored in locked cabinets. Bottles were moved during today's inspection.

Description: Based on observation, it was determined that not all disposable diapers were disposed of in a storage system that was foot operated or used in such a way that neither the staff member's hand nor the soiled diaper touched an exterior surface of the storage system during disposal. Evidence: The trash cans by the changing tables in the next steps and toddler classrooms had a closure that prevented use in such a way that neither the staff member's hand or diaper touches the can.

Plan of Correction: Will swap out with appropriate trash cans already present on site.
