A Subsidy Health and Safety inspection was conducted on 02/25/2020 from 9:15 am to 12:45 pm to review supplemental health and safety requirements. The children were observed singing, dancing, engaging in sensory and color activities, Spanish and sign language lessons, and eating morning snack. A formal observation was completed in the Silly Sea Turtles (Twos) and the Squids (Twos and Threes) classrooms. The center does not provide meals, and the children brought food from home. Interviews were held with staff throughout the inspection, and the inspector interacted with children in each classroom when appropriate. All areas utilized by children were inspected today as well as the facility?s buses.
Records were reviewed for ten children and ten employees. Medication is being administered and was reviewed. Injury reports were reviewed as well as the center?s injury prevention plan.
The center's first aid kit and emergency supplies were inspected.

Census: There were 129 children present during the inspection.
A licensing inspection was conducted on the same date as the SHSI supplemental inspection; the two inspections combined cover all subsidy health and safety requirements. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards are reviewed during this supplemental inspection. No violations of the supplemental subsidy health and safety requirements were found.
