Technical Assistance:
Discussed the difference between the monitoring inspection and the subsidy health and safety inspection. The inspection reports for the monitoring inspection are required to be posted.

Comments:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted on 03/02/2020 from 4:45 pm - 5:55 pm. At the time of entrance there were 19 children in care with two staff. The children ranged in age from four years - ten years. Children were observed eating snack which consisted of whole grain gold fish crackers and apple juice. Hand washing was observed after snack and transition to table games in the cafeteria. Records reviewed for eight children.
One violation was observed and was reviewed with the program director at the conclusion of the inspection. This area of noncompliance is listed on the violation notice.

Description: Based on observation, the center failed to ensure that electrical outlets shall have protective covers that are of a size that cannot be swallowed by children.

Evidence:
Four outlets on the power strip, under the table with the parent board, lacked a protective cover.

Plan of Correction: Protective covers were placed in the power strip during the inspection.
