Discussed TB screening requirements for SHSI

Comments:
An announced monitoring inspection was conducted on March 5, 2020 to review staff records. Thee sample size consisted of four staff records. Areas of noncompliance are identified on the Violation Notice. The Exit Interview was conducted with the Recreation Program Coordinator.

Violations:
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-160-A
Description: Based on record review, one of four staff records reviewed, the licensee did not ensure that each staff member shall submit documentation of a negative tuberculosis screening no later than 21 days after employment.

Evidence: The Recreation Program Coordinator confirmed that Staff #2 was hired 4/1/19 and the TB screening was submitted more than 21 days after employment and was dated 5/14/19.

Plan of Correction: The Recreation Program Coordinator will ensure that TB screenings are acquired.

Standard #: 63.2(17)-1720.1-B-2
Description: Based on record review, in one of four staff records reviewed, the licensee did not ensure that staff submit to fingerprinting and obtain results prior to employment.

Evidence: The Recreation Program Coordinator confirmed that the hire date for Staff #2 was 4/1/19 and the fingerprints results letter was dated 4/2/19.

Plan of Correction: Recreation Program Coordinator will ensure that fingerprint results are acquired prior to hire date.
