Violations:
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-270-A
Description: Based on observations and discussion with the staff, the facility failed to ensure that areas and equipment of the center, inside and outside, shall be maintained in a clean, safe and operable condition.

Evidence: The front cover of the electric baseboard heater in the Boy's Bathroom had come off and was laying on the floor. The inside components of the heater were exposed and accessible to children. The inside components of the heater appeared to be sharp, upon investigation it was determined that the inside components were extremely hot to the touch. The Licensing Inspector touched the components to determine if they were sharp but rather discovered that the heater was on and that the exposed components were hot enough to burn skin.

Plan of Correction: The cover was replaced during the inspection. The Program Administration will be alerted that the cover is easily removed.
