Comments:
This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.

A monitoring inspection was conducted on 5/13/20. The director was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were 14 children present supervised by six staff. The inspector emailed the director a list of items required to complete the inspection. The Inspector reviewed two children?s records and two staff records submitted by the facility to ensure documentation was complete. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance(s) with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility.

The Licensing Inspector has reviewed with the provider COVID-19 Essential Guidance for Child Care programs.

Violations:
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-80-A
Description: Based on review of attendance records and interview with the Director, the center did not ensure that all children were documented on the written record of attendance. Evidence: At approximately 12:10pm on 5/13/20 the Director stated that there were seven children in the PreK class. The attendance record at that time had documentation of six children in attendance. The Director stated that the seventh child had arrived at approximately 10:37am.

Plan of Correction: The Teacher added the child to the attendance record during the inspection. The Director will also retrain the staff regarding attendance procedures.
