This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.
A monitoring inspection was initiated on May 28, 2020 and concluded on May 29, 2020. The in-charge person was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were zero children present and zero staff. The inspector emailed the representative a list of items required to complete the inspection. The Inspector reviewed two children?s records and two staff records submitted by the facility to ensure documentation was complete.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and a violation was documented on the violation notice issued to the facility.
The Licensing Inspector has reviewed with the provider COVID-19 Essential Guidance for Child Care programs.

Standard #: 63.2(17)-1720.1-B-3 Description: Based on review of two staff records and interview, the center did not request a search of out-of-state founded complaints of child abuse and neglect within the first 30 days of beginning employment for one staff member who had lived outside of Virginia within the last five years.
Evidence:
1. The record for Staff #2 (hire date 02/06/2020) indicated the staff member had lived outside of Virginia within the last five years.
2. The record did not contain documentation of a request for founded complaints of child abuse from the state the staff member indicated they had lived in within the last five years.
3. Administration stated an out-of-state child abuse search for Staff #1 had not been requested as of 05/29/2020.Plan of Correction: Please be advise it is my omission, I have attached a copy of the Alabama Interstate Registry Check form, which was mailed to Staff #1 for her signature today. Once received then it will be forward to the State of Alabama Interstate Registry Check.
