This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.
A monitoring inspection was initiated on May 27, 2020 and concluded on May 28, 2020. The Childcare Director was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were no children present and no staff. The center is closed due to the health pandemic. There were 51 children and 5 staff present on the center's last day of operation, March 13, 2020. The inspector emailed the Childcare Director a list of items required to complete the inspection. The Inspector reviewed 4 children?s records and 4 staff records submitted by the facility to ensure documentation was complete.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance(s) with applicable standards or law and a violation was documented on the violation notice issued to the facility.
The Licensing Inspector has reviewed with the provider COVID-19 Essential Guidance for Child Care programs.

Standard #: 63.2(17)-1721.1-B-3 Description: Based on record review and interviews with staff, the licnesee did not ensure 1 of 4 staff have obtained a copy of the results of a search of the central registry maintained by any other state in which the individual has resided in the preceding five years for any founded complaint of child abuse or neglect against him.
Evidence: The record for staff #1 (start date 8-27-2019) did not include documentation of an out of state check conducted for Massachusetts where the individual had lived within the last five years. Information was verified by the Childcare Director.Plan of Correction: HR will resend the out of state background check within 10 days.
