This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.
A monitoring inspection was initiated on 05/28/2020 and concluded on 06/04/2020. The director was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were no children in care as the school has been closed since 03/16/2020. The inspector emailed the director a list of items required to complete the inspection. The inspector reviewed 3 children's records and 3 staff records submitted by the facility to ensure documentation was complete.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and the violation was documented on the violation notice issued to the facility.
The licensing inspector has reviewed with the director COVID-19 Essential Guidance for Child Care Programs.

Standard #: 63.2(17)-1720.1-B-3 Description: Based on record review and interview, the center failed to obtain a copy of the results of a search of the central registry maintained pursuant to ? 63.2-1515 and any child abuse and neglect registry or equivalent registry maintained by any other state in which the individual has resided in the preceding five years for any founded complaint of child abuse or neglect against him.
Evidence:
1. The results of a central registry check from the State of Georgia was not available for staff 1.
a. Staff 1 has a hire date of 06/12/2019 and indicated on the sworn statement or affirmation that she had resided in the State of Georgia within the past five years.
2. Administrative staff confirmed that a central registry check from the State of Georgia had not been requested from the State of Georgia.Plan of Correction: A central registry check will be requested, from the State of Georgia, as soon as the facility resumes operation.
