An inspection was conducted today at the request of the program director to view and measure the recent playground renovations. The facility lengthened and widened the existing playground. Also the fenced grass area directly adjacent to the facility was opened to play space with an additional rectangular play area to the rear of the facility.
Due to the inability to see the entire play space at one time, there must always be at least two staff present when all areas of the new playground are in use. The playground safety plan must be revised to address the appropriate stationing of staff to ensure monitoring of the entire play space.
The entire play space measured to a total of 1784 square feet, allowing for a maximum of 23 children with the required 75 square feet per child.
