This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.
A monitor inspection was initiated on June 8, 2020 and concluded on June 12, 2020. The director was contacted by telephone to initiate the virtual inspection. There were 21 children present with five staff. The inspector reviewed a list of items required to complete the inspection. The inspector reviewed two children?s records and two household records during the remote virtual inspection to ensure documentation was complete.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance(s) with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility.

Standard #: 22VAC40-191-60-C-2 Description: Based on record review and interview the center failed to obtain a central registry finding within the allotted 30 days.
Evidence:
1 - The record for staff 1 does not include documentation of a central registry finding.
a. Staff 1 has a documented date of hire as October 13, 2019.
2 - Staff 2 stated in writing and verbally that staff 1 was present and providing direct care to children on June 1 and 9, 2020.Plan of Correction: The central registry finding will be obtained and placed in the staff record. The provider understands that within 10 days from June 12, 2020 documentation of the located background check or documentation that the background check has been requested will be provided to the department.
