This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia. An initial inspection was initiated on August 17, 2020 and concluded on August 18, 2020. The provider was contacted by telephone to initiate the virtual inspection. A licensing inspector was onsite to conduct measurements of the indoor and outdoor areas. The inspector emailed the provider a list of items required to complete the inspection. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility. The Licensing Inspector has reviewed with the provider COVID-19 Essential Guidance for Child Care programs.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-290-3 Description: Based on a virtual inspection of the facility, the applicant did not ensure that in areas used by preschool age children, electrical outlets shall have protective covers.
Evidence: The Director confirmed that there were six electrical outlets in Classroom B without protective covers.Plan of Correction: Electrical outlet covers will be purchased today and in place by tomorrow morning.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-540-C Description: Based on a virtual inspection of the facility, the applicant did not ensure that the first aid kit contained all required items.
Evidence: The Director confirmed that the center's first aid kit did not contain an instructional manual.Plan of Correction: The plan of correction is to go online and print a first aid manual kit.
