This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.
A monitoring inspection was initiated on 8/20/20 and concluded on 8/31/20. The director was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were 77 children present and 10 staff. The inspector emailed the director a list of items required to complete the inspection. The Inspector reviewed 4 children?s records and 4 staff records submitted by the facility to ensure documentation was complete. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility.
The Licensing Inspector has reviewed with the provider COVID-19 Essential Guidance for Child Care programs.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-550-D Description: Based upon review of emergency drill records and interview, the center did not ensured that evacuation drills are practiced monthly.
Evidence:
1. The emergency drill record provided does not contain documentation of a practice evacuation drill for the months of June 2020 and August 2020.
2. The center director confirmed that practice evacuation drills were not conducted in June and August of 2020.Plan of Correction: The center responded with the following: Going forward, the center will ensure that evacuation drills are practiced monthly.
