Comments:
This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.

A monitoring inspection was initiated on September 21, 2020 and concluded on September 23, 2020. The director was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were 39 children present and 10 staff. The inspector emailed the director a list of items required to complete the inspection. The inspector reviewed three children's records and four staff records by the facility to ensure documentation was complete.

Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or laws and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility.

The Licensing Inspector has reviewed with the provider COVID-19 Essential Guidance for Child Care Programs.

Violations:
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-60-A
Description: Based on review of children files, the center failed to ensure that each child enrolled had all required information in their record.

Evidence:
1. Child #2's file did not contain complete emergency addresses for the two emergency contacts. Date of enrollment for Child #2 was 09/08/2020.
2. Staff verified that the record did not contain complete emergency addresses for the emergency contacts.

Plan of Correction: Administration will contact the parents at pick up to obtain the complete address for both emergency contacts.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-550-D
Description: Based on review of evacuation drills, the center failed to ensure that a monthly practice evacuation drill was completed every month.

Evidence:
1. There was no documentation that an emergency evacuation drill had been completed in May 2020.
2. Staff verified that there was no documentation that an emergency evacuation drill for May 2020.

Plan of Correction: Administration will create a tracking system to ensue that an evacuation drill is completed monthly.
