This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.
A renewal inspection was initiated on 10/06/2020 and concluded on 10/08/2020. The in-charge person was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were 14 children present and 2 staff. The inspector emailed the provider a list of items required to complete the inspection. The inspector reviewed two children's records and two staff records submitted by the facility to ensure documentation was complete.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility.
The licensing inspector has reviewed with the provider COVID-19 Essential Guidance for Child Care programs.

Standard #: 63.2(17)-1721.1-B-2 Description: Based on a review of two staff records and interview, the center did not ensure the results of a fingerprint background check were completed for one applicant, hired prior to January 22, 2018, by September 30, 2018.
Evidence: 1) The record for Staff #1 contained the results of a fingerprint background check dated October 08, 2020 which exceeds the September 30, 2018 deadline for applicants hired prior to January 22, 2018.
2) During interview, a member of management reported Staff #1 did not have the results of a fingerprint background check by the September 30, 2018 deadline.Plan of Correction: Corrected - the applicant has received the results of a fingerprint background check.
