Comments:
This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.

A monitoring inspection was conducted on 9/16/2020 with an exit interview on 10/16/2020. The child care manager was contacted by telephone and a virtual inspection was conducted. There were 31 children present, ranging in age from five years to 12 years of age, with four staff supervising. The Inspector reviewed two children's records, two staff records, the emergency drill log, hand washing procedures, enhanced cleaning and sanitizing of toys and surfaces, meals and snacks, and daily indoor and outdoor activities. The information gathered during the inspection determined no violations with applicable standards or law. No violations were issued.

Violations:
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-160-A
Description: Based on review of three staff records, the center did not have documentation of a tuberculosis (TB) test/screening for staff within 21 days of hire. Evidence: the record for staff #3 (date of hire: 2/10/2020) did not have documentation of a TB test/screening.

Plan of Correction: Staff will be asked to obtain a TB test/screening.

Standard #: 22VAC40-191-60-C-2
Description: Based on review of three staff records, and an interview with staff, it was determined that not all staff had Central Registry Search results within thirty days of employment. Evidence: Staff #3 (date of hire: 2/10/2020) did not have documentation of a Central Registry search report on file.

Plan of Correction: Staff will not be allowed to return to work until central registry search results have been received.
