A background check violation has been cited. Please remember that you have ten days to submit documentation of the central registry results or that the background check has been requested. If you are requesting the background check, once it has been received you will have ten days to provide a copy of the results of the background check to the Licensing Inspector.

This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.
A monitoring inspection was initiated October 26, 2020 and concluded on October 29, 2020. The provider was contacted by telephone to initiate the virtual inspection. There were six children present with one staff member at 12:50pm and 2:15pm. At approximately 2:30pm there were two staff present in the child care center. The inspector reviewed a list of items required to complete the inspection. The inspector reviewed two children?s and two staff records during the virtual, remote inspection to ensure documentation was complete.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance(s) with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility.
The Licensing Inspector has reviewed with the provider COVID-19 Essential Guidance for Child Care programs.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-340-C Description: Based on interview the center failed to ensure that when one or more children is present there will be on staff and an immediately available staff member, with direct means for communication between the two of them.
Evidence:
1 - When the inspector called at 12:50 staff 3 was alone in the building and reported that there were six children in care.
2 - When the inspector called at 2:15 staff 2 stated that she was alone in the building with six children in care.
3 - During the remote inspection via telephone staff 1 stated that she did leave staff alone in the building with six children in care ages three to seven years. Staff 1 stated that she left two separate times and both times staff were left alone with children in care.Plan of Correction: Not available online. Contact Inspector for more information.
Standard #: 63.2(17)-1720.1-A Description: Based on record review and interview the center failed to ensure that central registry background checks are updated every five years as required.
Evidence:
