This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternative remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.
A renewal inspection was initiated on 11/30/2020 and concluded on 12/02/2020. The provider was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were no children in care as the program is currently closed due to COVID-19. The inspector reviewed 2 children's records, 2 staff member records and 2 agent records during the inspection to ensure documentation was complete. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance(s) with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility.
The Licensing Inspector has reviewed with the provider COVID-19 Essential Guidance for Child Care programs.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-550-D Description: Based on document review and discussion with staff, the facility failed to implement monthly practice evacuation drills.
Evidence: There was not a practice evacuation drill implemented for November 2020; the most recent practice evacuation drill was conducted on 10/21/2020.Plan of Correction: Drills will be scheduled for the beginning of the month and if the center has to close and a drill is not possible, it will be documentation as such.
