All employees (who have lived in another state within the past five years) hired after July 1, 2020 must have a criminal history name check and sex offender registry check prior to employment.
Provided consultation on standard: 240.D - to safely perform medication administration practices, whenever the center has agreed to administer over-the-counter or prescribed medications, the administration shall be performed by a staff member who has satisfactorily completed a training program for this purpose; staff required to have the training shall be retrained at three-year intervals.
Provided consultation on program leader qualifications. Staff can be lead teacher qualified if they have six months of documented programmatic experience and 24 hours of training related to child care within 6 months before being promoted or one month after the promotion. All training must be documented within the time frame.

This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.
A monitoring inspection was conducted on 12/17/2020. The director was contacted by telephone and a virtual inspection was conducted. There were nine children present with four staff supervising. The Inspector reviewed two children's records, two staff records, the emergency drill log, meals and snacks, naptime, hand washing procedures, enhanced cleaning and sanitizing of toys and surfaces, and daily indoor and outdoor activities. The information gathered during the inspection determined no violations with applicable standards or law. No violations were issued.
