This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.
A complaint inspection was initiated on 11/03/2020 and concluded on 12/01/2020. A complaint was received by the department regarding allegations in the area of infant room ratio. The director was contacted by telephone to conduct the investigation. The inspector emailed the director a list of documentation required to complete the investigation. Additional documentation was received on 11/12/2020 and 12/01/2020.
The evidence gathered during the investigation did support the allegations of non-compliance with standards or law. The complaint was determined to be valid.
A violation notice was issued to the facility.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-340-C Complaint related: No Description: Based on review of attendance records and staff time sheets, the facility failed to have two staff people present while children are in care. Evidence: eleven children, ranging in age from infant to school age, were signed in between 6:30 a.m. and 6:45 a.m. on September 21, 2020. Evidence: Staff 1 had eleven children, ranging in age from infant to school age from 6:35 a.m. to 6:46 a.m. on September 21, 2021.
