Comments:
This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.

A renewal inspection was initiated on 01/08/2021 and concluded on 01/27/2021. The director was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were zero children present and one staff due to center closure. The inspector emailed the director a list of items required to complete the inspection. The Inspector reviewed two children's records and two staff records submitted by the facility to ensure documentation was complete.

Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law, and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility.

The Licensing Inspector has reviewed with the provider COVID-19 Essential Guidance for Child Care programs.

Violations:
Standard #: 63.2(17)-1720.1-A
Description: Based on review of two staff records and discussion with staff, the center failed to ensure all staff had fingerprint eligibility letters returned prior to starting their position.

Evidence:

1. Staff # 2 started on 08/31/2020 and the fingerprint eligibility letter was dated 09/23/2020.
