This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia. A renewal inspection was initiated on 2/9/21 and concluded on 2/10/21. The director was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were no child present as the program normally operates on school out days. The inspector emailed the director a list of items required to complete the inspection. The Inspector reviewed 2 children?s records and 2 staff records submitted by the facility to ensure documentation was complete. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance(s) with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility. The Licensing Inspector has reviewed with the provider COVID-19 Essential Guidance for Child Care programs.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-550-E Description: Based on a review of the emergency drill log and interview, it was determined that the licensee did not ensure that the center shall maintain a record of the dates of the practice drills for one year.
Evidence:
1. The emergency drill log did not have documentation to indicate an emergency evacuation drill was completed for the month of October 2020.
2. Staff #3 stated that an emergency evacuation drill had been completed during the month of October 2020, but that the staff had forgot to document it on the emergency drill log.Plan of Correction: The facility responded: The emergency drill completed in October will be added to the emergency drill log. Going forward we will ensure the document all emergency evacuation drills on the log.
