This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia. A monitoring (renewal) inspection was initiated on February 9, 2021 and concluded on February 11, 2021. The provider was contacted by telephone to initiate the remote inspection. The inspector emailed the provider a list of items required to complete the inspection. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility. The Licensing Inspector has reviewed with the provider COVID-19 Essential Guidance for Child Care programs.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-550-D Description: Based on review and staff interview, the licensee did not ensure that the center shall implement a monthly practice evacuation drill.
Evidence: The Director confirmed that there was no documentation of evacuation drills practiced for November and December 2020 and January 2021.Plan of Correction: We will work to get them scheduled now on the school-wide calendar for the remining months left in the school year.
