The Licensing Inspector has reviewed with the provider COVID-19 Essential Guidance for Child Care programs.
Background checks have to be completed for all staff, prior to license issuance,

This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia. A renewal inspection was initiated and concluded on February 25th, 2021. The director was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were 68 children and 8 staff. The inspector emailed the director a list of items required to complete the inspection. The Inspector reviewed 5 children's records and 5 staff records submitted by the facility to ensure documentation was complete. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliances with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notices issued to the facility. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-240-A Description: Based on a review of staff training documentation, it was determined that five staff have not completed all required components for orientation training.
Evidence:
Staff #1, #3 ,#4 and #5's records do not have documentation of completion of "Recognizing Child Abuse and Neglect" training.Plan of Correction: All staff will document completion of "Recognizing Child Abuse and Neglect training.
Standard #: 22VAC40-191-60-C-2 Description: Based on review of staff records, the center failed to obtain a central registry finding within 30 days of employment.
Evidence:
Staff #4 and 5's records do not contain current central registry finding. Staff #4's first day was 9/3/19, staff #5's firt day was 9/4/2012Plan of Correction: I will submit the request for central registry finding by March 1, 2021.
