This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia. A renewal inspection was initiated on 3/3/21 and concluded on 3/5/21. The director was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were 20 children present and 3 staff present. The inspector emailed the director a list of items required to complete the inspection. The Inspector reviewed 3 children?s records and 3 staff records submitted by the facility to ensure documentation was complete. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance(s) with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility. The Licensing Inspector has reviewed with the provider COVID-19 Essential Guidance for Child Care programs.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-260-B Description: Based on a review of documentation and interview, it was determined that the facility did not ensure that an annual inspection report from the appropriate local health department was completed.
Evidence:
1. The most recent annual health inspection report inspection available for viewing during the inspection was dated 11/5/19.
2. Staff #3 (Assistant Director) confirmed that the annual health inspection report had not been completed.Plan of Correction: The provider responded: We will contact the local health department to schedule an inspection. Once completed we will forward the results to the Licensing Inspector.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-550-D Description: Based on a review of the emergency drill log and interview, it was determined that the facility did not ensure that two shelter-in-place drills are completed annually.
Evidence:
1. The emergency drill log did not have written documentation to demonstrate that a second shelter-in-place practice drill was completed during 2020.
2. Staff #3(Assistant Director) confirmed that only one shelter-in-place practice drill was completed during 2020.Plan of Correction: The provider responded: We will ensure that we complete two shelter-in-place drills annually.
