This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.
A monitoring inspection was initiated on 02/26/2021 and concluded on 03/11/2021. The director was contacted by email to initiate the inspection. There were 11 children present with two staff members. The inspector emailed the director a list of items required to complete the inspection. The Inspector reviewed two children's records and two staff records submitted by the facility to ensure documentation was complete.
The information gathered during the inspection determined that there were violations with applicable standards or law. Violations were cited on the Violation Notice and discussed with the center director.
The Licensing Inspector has reviewed with the provider COVID-19 Essential Guidance for Child Care programs.

Standard #: 22VAC40-191-60-C-2 Description: Based upon review of two staff records, the facility has not ensured that the results of a child protective services (CPS) central registry search are obtained within 30 days of employment.
Evidence:
1. The record provided for staff 2 indicated a hire date of 8/24/2020. Results of a CPS central registry search have not been received. There was one documentation of follow-up with the office of background investigations (OBI), which stated that payment had not been received by OBI. The employee continued to work with children.
2. The facility administrator confirmed that results of the CPS central registry had not yet been received.Plan of Correction: "Follow up on all submitted paperwork to ensure everything is correct and processed correctly."
