This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.
A renewal inspection was initiated on 3/10/21 and concluded on 3/12/21. The director was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were seven children present and one staff. The inspector emailed the director a list of items required to complete the inspection. The Inspector reviewed two children?s records, a staff record, and one agent record submitted by the facility to ensure documentation was complete. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility.
The Licensing Inspector has reviewed with the provider COVID-19 Essential Guidance for Child Care programs.

Standard #: 63.2(17)-1721.1-B-4 Description: Based on review of one agent record, the center did not obtain the results of a criminal history record check and sex offender registry check from all states in which agents have resided within the last five years prior to 12/31/2020 as required. Evidence: Agent A, with a start of service date of 7/1/18, disclosed on their sworn statement dated 4/18/18 that they had lived in the state of Pennsylvania within the past five years. A criminal history record check and sex offender registry check from Pennsylvania were required to be on record by 12/31/2020 but are not on record. Plan of Correction: The criminal history record check and sex offender registry check from Pennsylvania were obtained on 3/12/2021 and submitted to the Licensing Inspector.
