This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.
A monitoring inspection was initiated on 4/15/2021 and concluded on 4/16/2021. The director was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were 11 children present and 4 staff. The inspector emailed the director a list of items required to complete the inspection. The Inspector reviewed 2 children?s records and 2 staff records submitted by the facility to ensure documentation was complete.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility.
The Licensing Inspector has reviewed with the provider COVID-19 Essential Guidance for Child Care programs.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-60-A Description: Based on record review, 1 of 2 children's records did not contain all required information.
Evidence:
1. The record for Child #1 did not contain the name, address, and phone number of two designated people to call in an emergency if a parent cannot be reached.
2. The parents' information was listed in the record as the emergency contacts for Child #1.Plan of Correction: Parents were contacted and information was obtained during inspection.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-550-D Description: Based on record review and staff interview, the center did not implement monthly practice evacuation drills for each month.
Evidence:
1. A monthly evacuation drill was not documented for the month of November 2020.
2. Staff acknowledged a drill was not completed during the month of November 2020.Plan of Correction: We will plan a back-up day each month for when drills aren't able to be completed on the planned day.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-550-M Description: Based on record review, 2 of 3 records of injuries did not contain all required information.
Evidence:
1. An injury report for Child #2 dated 2/24/21 did not contain the time parents were notified of the injury.
2. An injury report for Child #3 dated 3/3/21 did not contain the time parents were notified of the injury.Plan of Correction: I will review with staff and we will start using specific times on the injury reports.
