Technical Assistance:
The Licensing Inspector has reviewed with the provider COVID-19 Essential Guidance for Child Care programs.

Reminder:
All staff are required to obtain 16 hours of training annually.

Comments:
A monitoring inspection was initiated on 05/05/2021 and concluded on 05/06/2021. The director was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were 45 children present with 8 staff. The inspector emailed the director a list of items required to complete the inspection. The Inspector reviewed 3 children's records and 3 staff records submitted by the facility to ensure documentation was complete. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliances with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice. Violations:
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-160-C
Description: Based on a review of staff records, the facility failed to obtain every two years the results of a follow-up tuberculosis screening.

Evidence
Staff #1 and #2's records do not have documentation of a current tuberculosis screening or testing' Staff #1's last documented screening was 10/29/2-18 and Staff #2's last documented screening was 10/29/2018.

Plan of Correction: I will request updated tuberculosis screenings from staff.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-240-A
Description: Based on a review of staff records, the center failed to obtain documentation of child abuse and neglect and the legal requirements for reporting suspected child abuse as required by 63.2-1508 of the Code of Virginia.

Evidence:
Staff #1 and Staff #2's records do not contain documentation of Child Abuse and Neglect training by the end of the first day of assuming job responsibilities.

Plan of Correction: I will have staff obtain and submit documentation of completion of Child Abuse and Neglect training.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-550-E
Description: Based on a review of evacuation drill logs, it was determined that monthly evacuation drills were not completed.

Evidence:
No drill was completed for December 2020.

Plan of Correction: The Director is aware that the drills need to be completed monthly.
